Counts as the prerequisite for our Intermediate Turning classes like Natural Edge Bowl!

Duration: 4 Weekend Days

Class Description: This series is a comprehensive survey of the landscape of bowl and spindle turning and incorporates many of the shorter individual turning classes that focus on single skills or projects.  In this class you will learn safe lathe operation and spend the majority of your class time perfecting technique through a series of projects. Topics include proper lathe set-up, spindle and faceplate turning, bowl turning, making a lidded box, turning a perfect egg and tool sharpening. All you need to bring is enthusiasm and energy to learn new techniques. Lastly, turning produces large amounts of shavings and dust. Students are encouraged to wear a smock or old shirt that closes around the neck. We also ask that you wear long pants and generally dress to get messy. Leave any dangling jewelry at home, tie back loose hair, and no open-toed shoes will be allowed.
